I am a keen gardener, so when not painting landscapes I enjoy painting gardens and flowers from some of my favourite places. I started painting with watercolours when my children were small due to lack of space. However, now having my own studio, I’ve enjoyed having the room to experiment exclusively with oil paints. I love the rich colours and expressive brush strokes I can achieve in this medium, painting in an impressionistic way, often starting with a bright pink background which contributes to my personal style. I am fascinated by colour, light and reflections and am always striving to capture the mood and atmosphere of a scene. I am drawn to wild untamed places in the natural world, and aim to create dreamlike nostalgic paintings sometimes inhabited by native animals or wistful, romantic characters from the pages of my favourite books.
