Rosemary has always had a strong interest in plants and studied Horticulture at Wye College London University in the early 1970’s. She is a keen gardener maintaining a five-acre garden between Cambridge and Huntingdon. Rosemary was a Parks Manager in the London Borough of Redbirdge in the 1980’s and then taught at Capel Manor Institute of Horticulture, Enfield for a number of years.
She started botanical painting in the end of the 1990’s and undertook a botanical art course via the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic Garden in 1998. Over a number of years, she undertook commissions for technical agricultural and horticultural publications.
A member of both Cambridge Open Studios and the Cambridge Drawing Society Rosemary has been exhibiting in Cambridge since 2015.
Whilst botanical watercolour and pen and ink painting is a strong focus Rosemary also enjoys a range of different media and subjects including pastel portrait work and abstract fluid acrylics. Rosemary will undertake commissions and watercolour and pastel techniques teaching.
