Matthew Peace

Hello everyone 

My name is Matthew Peace and I have been an artist, well, as long as I can remember. I have had some successes with oils, acrylics, and watercolours; however, it was when I discovered coloured pencils that my art career has really taken off. I find working in coloured pencils allows me to achieve maximum detail and precision without the unpredictable nature of having to mix colours with water or thinners. I know that if I layer one colour over another that is the colour I'm going to get. Ive always been fascinated by the natural world, particularly plants. I find everything about plants magical, from how the reproduce to how they grow and flower then how the die down and come alive again in the spring and as a botanical artist and illustrator I love to capture this cycle on paper.
