This year's AGM delivered a great turn out from the membership - thanks to all who could make it and those who could not attend were much missed. With such a lot to celebrate from the year to date, and yet more in the pipeline as we look toward an equally busy and exciting 2025, there was plenty to cover.
We're delighted to welcome a new member to the group - with a full membership list, plus our Honorary Members, Iceni is definitely THE go-to group for all things botanical art in the eastern region!
As always, up coming vacancies in Committee member and Officer posts, were discussed and happily the group was able to supply new volunteers to step up and enable the continued smooth running of the group into 2025 and beyond.
The majority of the meeting covered our ongoing project Fuller's Mill Garden: A Jewel in the Forest. With such a HUGE amount of work already put in - by Committee members working tirelessly alongside Fuller's Mill and Perennial, and of course by you, our wonderful artists, turning attention and talent to the creation of so many fabulous works - the annual exhibition at Bury St Edmunds Guildhall, and the book launch/exhibition at Fuller's Mill, look set to be a great moment of success in the history and story of our lovely group. With all works for these exhibitions now complete, members are free to pursue passion projects and studies with the sure expectation that future exhibitions will be planned where new works can be displayed and sold.
Other activities for 2025 were proposed, to be confirmed, once details and availability to deliver workshops, book venues, and sufficient interest in participation from the group are finalised.
After a long but very successful meeting, most of us repaired to the pub to share a lovely lunch and catch up with each other.
Several members are mid study or planning to study, and others plan to apply/exhibit at the prestigious RHS Botanical Art and Photography show. There really is a wealth of talent, inspiration and ambition in our group!
Finally, a warm and heartfelt thank you to all for another great year of botanical art making and sharing.
Well done everyone!
